Pumpkin headed Sawfly - Cephalcia fulviceps

Pumpkin headed Sawfly - Cephalcia fulviceps
Woodside Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota, USA
June 5, 2016
Size: Aproximately 5/8 inch
I thought that this one was a beetle when I first spotted it, but closer inspection revealed otherwise. I don't often see sawflies, but I believe that this is one, possibly a male. It was sitting on a grass blade on the edge of a minimum maintenance road when I spotted it. It showed no inclination to fly, but walked on the ground a bit, then readily walked onto my hand where it walked around while I photographed it some more. Any help with ID will be appreciated.

Pamphiliidae
Cephalcia fulviceps (Rohwer). Larvae feed on pines. Not a common species. I have records from CT,NH, NJ, Ontario, and Quebec, but it is certainly more widespread.

Habitat
I don't know if it may help in identification or add to information about this species, but this one was found on the edge of a gravel road approximately 30 feet from the edge of a 30 year old white pine plantation with a farm field across the road.
