Dragonfly having lunch - Erythemis simplicicollis - male

Dragonfly having lunch - Erythemis simplicicollis - Male
tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, USA
July 1, 2006
Size: about 5cm
I was only able to take this picture because the dragonfly was eating something and didn't feel like flying off. Is it possible to tell what it's eating? I also need an ID for the dragonfly so I can move it appropriately.

Hard to say without seeing the menu, but...
...I'd guess green lacewing was the daily special.

We would say
male Erythemis simplicicollis, but we don't know what he's eating :(
