Size: 1/4-/12 inch length
Light marking on back of moth was more orange in color than white. Hundreds of individuals flying and landing in day lilies, grass, small shrubs, and mugo pines in my backyard.

Please fix the date as requested. Given your verbal color description I suggest you look at . Some of the pictures here look more like your moth and you can see that Maine is within its range.

David, the same thing has happened to me. I don't know if it is the camera or BG, but my dates used to always come up in the information from my photograph. Now I always try to remember to enter the date manually even when it appears on a preview.
