Cuckoo wasp - Chrysis angolensis

Cuckoo wasp - Chrysis angolensis
Braunig Lake Park, Bexar County, Texas, USA
June 7, 2016
This small, iridescent wasp was hanging out on the wall of a building near the park headquarters. I didn't see any others in the vicinity so this little gem was a rare find.

Chrysidinae…

A cuckoo wasp huh?
That's quite a humorous name but also fitting, given how their larvae develop. Thanks Ross!
