Taeniogramma mendicata? - Taeniogramma mendicata
Davis Mtns--Nature Conservancy Preserve, Jeff Davis County, Texas, USA
June 2, 2016
Size: FW 12 mm.
This is apparently Taeniogramma mendicata, a Geometrid moth which has been collected in AZ, NM, and at least once in Brewster Co. in West Texas but has apparently never been photographed alive. See MPG plate here.
Key aspects which lead me to this ID are the plain ground color with a simple dotted PM line and cell dot on the FW, the golden brown collar on the thorax, and the overall wing shape and posture. Compare with Arlene Ripley's MPG image of the related T. tenebrosata of AZ and NM.

Needs a new BG page.
