Caloptilia species - Caloptilia

Caloptilia species - Caloptilia
Wake County, North Carolina, USA
June 8, 2016
Size: about 6mm TL
This moth closely resembles Caloptilia stigmatella, which I have photographed previously. The "pale, hooked triangle at midpoint of costa" (Peterson)is white for all photos of C. stigmatella I have seen and for the one I photographed in 2011, yet this individual's coloration is pale yellowish. It might simply be a variation within the same species.
