Lasiopogon
This is a male Lasiopogon aldrichii. (It may end up being in a new species we'll be splitting from L. aldrichii, but we haven't quite figured out the boundaries for that and so for the time being let's just call it L. aldrichii.) Nice find! Did you keep it? I may be back to ask you if you have more details on the precise locality... :-)

The big, chunky, squarish genitalia in the male are an instant giveaway for this species group (females have a red sternite on the otherwise black ovipositor); other characters to watch for include the not-spotted halter, medial stripe (dark line between the dorsocentral stripes on the scutum), dark mystax, all-dark legs, and fairly broad bands of apical grey tomentum on the tergites.

Yep, I still have it
I found it in a densely forested mixed conifer area with small openings scattered around. This one was in one of those openings.

Location is: 45°17'19.80"N -- 118°52'25.14"W

I hope this helps and it is available if you want it.
