green weevil - Polydrusus impressifrons

green weevil - Polydrusus impressifrons
Brossard, Quebec, Canada
June 27, 2007
Size: 8mm
A small green weevil. From the image pages I would guess that it is a Polydrusus, but what type? The head doesn’t look like polydrusus sericeus from the image pages, since the "nose" is quite heavily indented at the tip.

Moved
Moved from Beetles.

measured or estimated?
8mm as body length is too big for P.impressifrons (around 5mm), otherwise I would agree with the ID.

estimate
Hi, it was an estimate. I would certainly be the first to question the accuracy of my sense of size!

It's certainly not
sericus, so this has to be P. impressifrons, unless another European species have recently been introduced! There's only one guide image for this species - look there for notes on identification that I've included (and one more added by Boris Büche, which fits for your specimen) for this species: .

Thanks
Thanks for your input, that’s great. Certainly your ID seems to fit pretty well. Very much appreciated.
