Nectaring on wild buckwheat flowers (Eriogonum nudum var. westonii).

Note the the photo here, and that in 2nd image of this post (same individual) were taken on 27 seconds apart, yet the lighting is such that the apical wing fringes appear to have completely different color (blackish vs. yellowish-brown).
