Moved from Nothopleurus.

The male N. lobigenis
that I find in the desert NW of Tucson have longer mandibles, usually. They seem to come from Palo Verde or maybe Ironwood, because that's all that's growing around our house besides Creosote. I think I know the vegetation around Rio Rico ... Mesquite, Desert Broom ... I have seen females (N. madericus) emerge from Desert Broom in Madera Canyon. I never found a male there

Thank you Margarethe!
