Syrphid Flies? - Melissodes Whitewater Draw area, Cochise County, Arizona, USA June 20, 2016 Size: ?
After a little research, I think these are Syrphid Flies, which for the past few nights have been gathering on these lastyear's Sideoats Grama stalks on the north side of my house, and spending the night there. These photos taken a few minutes before sunrise this morning. Never seen this behavior
before. Any guesses on genus or species?
