Weird bug? - Elaphidion mucronatum

Weird bug? - Elaphidion mucronatum
Olathe, Johnson County, Kansas, USA
July 4, 2007
Size: About an inch long
Saw this thing while I was standing outside listening to fireworks (At about 9:30 at night) and I didn't recognize it. Its clinging to the glass door as if its attracted to the light, but I really have no idea. I've never seen anything like this around my house before; my father knows a lot about insects but he had no idea either.

It is one of the Long-Horned Beetles
in the Cerambycidae.

Probably...
...Elaphidion mucronatum (spiney oak borer).
