Metarranthis - Metarranthis homuraria - male

Metarranthis - Metarranthis homuraria - Male
Block Island, Washington County, Rhode Island, USA
June 23, 2016

dissected - symmetrical furca
dissected - symmetrical furcae - according to Rupert's Revision 1943, M. homuraria has symmetrical furcae, both branches tipped with a closely packed cluster of ordinary pointed processes mixed with a considerable amount of hair. The only other symmetrical furcae is what he calls M. franclemonti which I believe is a synonym of M. amyrisaria (maculation does not match this one).
