Pupa from same batch of four Gray Hairstreak caterpillars as:
This was the larger of two successful pupa. It attached to the side of a dry oak leaf I provided. I can't wait until spring--I'll have to take the pupae with me to work every day, so as not to miss the emergence.
Note: these caterpillars, and pupa, were formerly believed by me to be those of Henry's Elfin, but close examination of Wagner's
(1) photos of the caterpillars indicates these are Gray Hairstreak.
