Size: est 3/4"
This is a fairly large bee with a long body, big jaws, a broad vertex and nodes on its clypeus. Is this Megachile pugnata? Feeding on milkweeds.

Nice shots! In addition to the many features that you already noted, this species also has large spurs, on the lower sides of her cheeks, under the eyes, visible in your image above. (partly covered by a few hairs)
Here is an example image that shows it a little better. Look next to the knee of the fore-leg. From DiscoverLife.org: "a conspicuous, flattened, sub-triangular process"
