I have pics of this male and nearby was a female with which it was interacting. I thought I had posted this to Bug Guide long ago, but apparently not. Brandon Woo (metrioptera) had a look at this guy on iNaturalist today and felt it was Scudderia fasciata. I now can clearly SEE the dark striping that gives this species its name, and cannot believe I had overlooked that for so long, but sometimes that is just the way it goes. I also have pics of the female which I will add shortly, and I can also see the dark striping on her tegmina as well. That is awesome, as it means this is a "new species for the Maritimes". I should point out that it was expected to be here in the Chapter on Orthops, Chapter 17, pp 371-379 by Scudder and Vickery in "Assessment of Species Diversity in the Atlantic Maritime Ecozone, 2012, edited by McAlpine and Smith, but as far as I can tell, it has not been yet reported officially and may well merit a write-up for the Acadian Entomological Society's journal :) :) :) Thanks Brandon!!
