Cyclocephala pasadenae - male

Cyclocephala pasadenae - Male
Residence near the Arroyo Seco, Pasadena, Los Angeles County, California, USA
June 18, 2016
My grandson dug up a couple of beetle larvae around the end of February this year. We kept them well covered with soil in a plastic vial 8 cm height, 4 cm diameter. Over time the visible matrix of the soil became increasingly finer, sign that they worked this stuff. Anyway, by June 18 there were two adult males.
ID confirmed by Jim Hogue (CSU Northridge).
This species is a regular around here.
