I just took the sweep net out and swung it around in my yard and came up with it. I've probably overlooked them before thinking they were the more common species.

yeah that's a possibility
too much experience may hurt, it's a known phenomenon: one day i brought in a bycid from my backyard that had never been recorded in TX. "Damn, said Ed Riley, now i'll have to pay attention to
Obrium maculatum
" (the latter is nauseatingly common around here, while the one i found on my deck was a bit of a lookalike, a recent introduction)
however, not a single picture of
Ch. penn.
have ever been posted by the rookies who shoot random things and dump hundreds of
hilaris
pics on BG every year -- which means your bug's a rarity

I was wondering when another one of these would show up here! I love this species, they're very cute. Too bad I don't have much of a chance to get back to the one spot I find them at these days.
