Small beewolf-like insect on Queen Anne's Lace - Philanthus gibbosus

Small beewolf-like insect on Queen Anne's Lace - Philanthus gibbosus
North Judson, Starke County, Indiana, USA
June 29, 2016
Size: small
This smallish and slender bee or wasp has the dimpled exoskeleton and vivid coloration typical of beewolves, but seems on the small side. The dark thing at the tip of its abdomen is the single dark red floret found at the center of most Queen Anne's Lace flowertops.
