Leafcutter bee: egg packets - Megachile perihirta Alameda County, California, USA July 5, 2016 Size: About 1.7 cm avg. length
The two ends of each packet are quite different. The end that is presumably the offspring's exit hole is closed (not very securely) with at least one leaf circle, cut smaller than the circles that form the walls.
