One down three to go? - Ellipsoptera nevadica

One down three to go? - Ellipsoptera nevadica
Laguna Del Perro, Torrance County, New Mexico, USA
July 4, 2016
This I believe is the E. n. ssp. A / variant. I have seen or collected the other 3 subspecies and or intergrades of nevadica (I wouldn't know). I am hoping to photograph them all (live). I was a little disappointed that the lakes/playas did not have more water in them. Which in my experience has been, the more water the more tigers. This was the only nevadica tiger beetle I found today (which took me about 20 minutes just to get 3 photographs)and the usually high populations of E. c. johnsoni and E. t. fascinans were a bit low. On the bright side I found and photographed P. t. cinctipennis at this site for the first time.
