Globular Springtail - Pseudobourletiella spinata

Lachenaie, Lanaudière County, Quebec, Canada
July 7, 2007
Found on the shore of a drained pond. The back is darker, compared to other globular springtails I have seen.

Pseudobourletiella spinata, juvenile.
This specimen is a bit tricky to ID. It lacks the typical convex thoracic dorsum. What revealed its true ID is the series of pale spots bilaterally on its abdomen.
