Beetle8637 - Attagenus brunneus

Beetle8637 - Attagenus brunneus
Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, USA
May 27, 2007
Size: 3.5mm
I think I shot this from the inside of our kitchen window. I just measured the screen and it looks like this beetle is about 3.5mm, not including the antennae. I can't find anything close other than some examples in Dermestidae.

You did not miss them, actually
Your contribution just made me aware of A.brunneus still mixed with A.unicolor in the guide, and I divided the species it is two days.

Attagenus rufipennis?
Not a positive ID but Andreas Herrmann has suggested that Attagenus rufipennis would more likely. Should I move it to tentatively to that species?

Yes, Dermestid.
A male of either Attagenus brunneus, or A.unicolor.

Thanks Boris
I should have dug a little deeper. I just read the description of Attagenus brunneus and it seems to be the better match. The antennae really thew me and I guess I just missed the examples of Attagenus brunneus in the guide.
