Psocodea, vertical limestone, first batch - Blastopsocus lithinus

Psocodea, vertical limestone, first batch - Blastopsocus lithinus
100 Acre Wood, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
July 2, 2016
July 2, 2016: looked for & found several groups of nymphs on the vertical face of limestone bluffs, collected a few & an adult, same place as last year, giving them some moss & lichen.

Nymphs were in the vicinity of this
July 5, 2016: all dead except 1 nymph. Diane Young suggested a more hospitable habitat by adding pieces of limestone and some debris, to the lichen and moss, all set on a bit of paper toweling to which a few drops of water are periodically added. Interesting that the first few days the nymphs remained on the vertical surface of one piece of limestone.
July 9, 2016: an adult! Looks much like the adult collected July 2. I'm hopeful that more nymphs will become adults & all can be sent to Diane
July 12, 2016: counted 7 live nymphs, would really like a second adult
July, 16, 2016: all nymphs dead, a couple with wing pads.
Rearing a second adult would have been good confirmation on the chance that an adult or a separate nymph was attached to some of the moss that was part of the rearing habitat.
Thanks to Charley Eiseman & Diane Young.
