There is a colony of these bees in the Stanley B Canyon of the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, estimated size of 100 square feet. The habitat of the area is pinyon-juniper, and they were bringing Opuntia sp. pollen to the burrows. Some of the individuals looked quite worn, where others were still very golden in color.
