Hemaris diffinis?
I can make out the blue tufts on the first black band of the abdomen, one one each side and one in the middle. I also has black legs. Check out info here. I would think it safe to move it.

I ID'ed one as a Snowberry Cl
I ID'ed one as a Snowberry Clearwing. I was really enthralled by it, mine didn't seem to mind me photoing it at all. I hope to encounter one again.
