Black Purse Web spider - Ummidia
12 miles SSE of Ozark Missouri, Christian County, Missouri, USA
July 12, 2016
It was walking slowly in the leaf duff and wasn't intimidated by my camera close up. It moved slowly and didn't try to get away. I thought I had a good face shot for eye ID but failed. I think it is Sphodros niger.

This is a spider
in the genus Ummidia, the 'saddle-back' depression in leg 3 is characteristic in this genus, you can see it in the second pic.
