Small reddish orb weaver - Neoscona

Small reddish orb weaver - Neoscona

Size: 5mm body

My best guess is Neoscona arabesca, although the markings are not as dark as most of the pictures in the guide... and I only noticed the missing leg just now after uploading the pictures - so much for observation skills. Per comment, the the pictures were taken a little after midnight, spends the day in retreat. Guess I missed any mention of N. crucifera being the more nocturnal variety...

Moved
Moved from ID Request. Sometimes know what time of day helps. Crucifera is more of a night spider than arabesca.

Yes, always tough
We would have suggested N. crucifera. Not sure if you can be certain :(

You would certainly know better than me...
...but I thought the ventral markings were closer to than to , not to mention the sparser, darker bristles... but it does lack the distinct black spots of arabesca, so I give up on this one.
