Explanation of Names
Author: Van Duzee, 1927
Remarks
The species name presumably refers to a violet color, but Robinson (1964) warned "I have ignored all references to violet versus green color of the face, front, or body. Observing fresh specimens I have seen initial green color of such parts become violet as drying and distortion occur."(1)
