Long-horned bees on goldenrod - Melissodes bimaculatus - male

Long-horned bees on goldenrod - Melissodes bimaculatus - Male
Manhattan, New York County, New York, USA
July 13, 2016
These bees (Eucerini? Mellisodes?) were clustered on my goldenrod at 6th Street & Avenue B Garden. There were probably a dozen of them in another tight cluster. We have a fairly high diversity of bees and wasps, but I've never seen these before.

Melissodes bimaculata, males
I had a group of these on my asters the other night.
