Syrphid on Willow at Lily Lake - Didea fuscipes - female

Syrphid on Willow at Lily Lake - Didea fuscipes - Female
Rocky Mountain National Park, Larimer County
August 22, 2006
Size: BL ~14 mm
This syrphid was seen at Lily Lake (elevation ~8940') in the Montane zone of Rocky Mountain NP on a Willow leaf. Separated eyes so maybe a female? With the bulbous yellow markings on tergite 1 (or 2?) and rather undulating eye margin, it somewhat resembles Syrphus ribesii, my best guess. However, the two lower bands end with a lateral margin of black. I do not see this margin on some of the BugGuide images of S. ribesii. I cannot tell if eyes are hairy, though I suspect no, nor can I see hairs on the wings.
Any help with its identification is greatly appreciated.

Didea fuscipes
On the left wing the R4+5 vein can be seen to be strongly dipped and the hind tarsi black and markings on tergite 3 and 4 are not divided, broad and oblique on their posterior surface. Didea fuscipes ....... female.
