Diurnal Firefly - Pyropyga nigricans

Diurnal Firefly - Pyropyga nigricans
Richmond Hill, York Region, Ontario, Canada
July 8, 2007
Size: 8 mm
Spotted this very active insect landing in a patch of dry grass in the front lawn and scooped him up. It was early afternoon at the time.
Overall size and the coloration and shape of the pronotum all fit very well with Pyropyga nigricans (Say). The Alberta Entomology Collection has an image of a specimen.
I have been unsuccessful in finding a source to compare with P. decipi*ens, the other representative of this genus in Ontario. One source, which is loaded with images of different Lampyrid species, but which I trust less, has images of this species. Apparently from BugGuide and identified by the site owner(s)! The images can be seen by clicking this link and scrolling until you reach Pyropyga.

I'm almost certain it is.
Working out this genus in the lab right now, so I'll have answers within a few weeks' time.
