ID request denied
I had only listed this moth a few hours before it was removed from the ID Request list. Usually some suggestion is given as to what direction I might use to further research. I would very much like help with this ID and cannot help but wonder what was wrong that my request was so promptly denied.

Why moved?
It wasn't "denied." Kyhl simply moved your image into the guide. It can still be identified by others. If nothing ever left ID Request until given the best possible identification there would be many thousands of images stuck there. Your image was moved where someone (me, in this case) can still see it and move it further. As for the lack of any further direction, this was part of a bulk move of many images into the guide and not any sort of ID of your image. Likewise, the move to Pyralidae must also have been a bulk move of many images so that specialists and amateurs alike can work on identifying images within a certain group (in this case the Pyralids). Both were bulk moves meant to keep the guide organized. My move was in a way a similar (though not bulk) move, in that I confirmed your suggested ID and moved the image to genus level, where it not only adds to distribution data but also awaits eventual expert placement to species (hopefully).

Thank you for taking the time
Thank you for taking the time to explain. There is much to learn about the system when so many species are involved.
I have been given a suggested ID of Peoria approximella.
I am very grateful for the help I have been given on my ID requests.
BugGuide is a wonderful service.
