Size: 10 mm
This is a male leafcutter, just under 1/2" long, feeding on mountain mint. The bee has mandibles with three teeth. T-5 of the bee's abdomen lacks a band of pale hair, a character identified in the Discover Life database as distinguishing M. mendica from M. texana and M. brevis. T-6 is covered with a patch of white hairs and has rugged edges and is notched, also traits of M. mendica as described by the Discover Life Database.
