Aphid Guarding Ant - Formica neogagates
Moose Visitor Center, State Forest State Park, Jackson County, Colorado, USA

Size: approx 4 mm
Guarding aphids on thistle (leaves sticky), trying to drive off Transverse Lady Beetle which was happily eating aphids, and mostly ignoring ants. Meadow at 9000 feet (approx) near willow lined stream.
