Tricholepidion gertschi (relict silverfish) - Tricholepidion gertschi

Tricholepidion gertschi (relict silverfish) - Tricholepidion gertschi
Benbow, Humboldt County, California, USA
July 12, 2016
Size: Around 10 mm
Fore tarsus. Borror and DeLong says they're supposed to be 5 segmented. I count 4 segments, and this is definitely Tricholepidion. Anyone know what's going on with that?

Sorry that it's hard to tell, but the segment in the bottom right hand corner is the apex of the tibia, not another tarsomere.

I have clearer and more detailed pictures of the tarsi for anyone who's interested.
