Tiny praying mantis - Leptomantispa pulchella

Tiny praying mantis - Leptomantispa pulchella
White Rock, Los Alamos County, New Mexico, USA
July 26, 2016
Size: 15mm

Moved
Moved from Mantidflies.

Smooth (i.e. no ridges) pronotum (i.e. "neck") with more or less uniformly distributed fine hairs (see here).

Also, there are 5 "wishbones" (see comment here)...supporting L. pulchella.

Finally, though subtle and often hard to distinguish, I find that the color of the body checkering in L. pulchella usually has a more saturated "banana & chocolate" quality compared to the "blander" yellow and blackish-brown of D. sayi.

Mantidfly actually
Not necessarily this one -

But similar at least.
