prairie cicada? - Cicadettana

prairie cicada? - Cicadettana
Revis Hill Prairie, Mason County, Illinois, USA
June 26, 2008
Size: less than 3cm
Found this in my files. It was a small freshly emerged cicada found within the high quality remnant loess hill prairie. Near the last place we saw Ottoe skippers.

Cicadetta ?
After review and comparisons, this cicada is most likely a Cicadetta calliope (?)

Given locality, body shape, wing structure, small size of ~1 inch and lack of dense setae (hairs) this cicada appears to be a Cicadetta.
