Melissodes - female

Melissodes - Female
Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
July 25, 2016
Found this little bee sleeping in the cosmo blossom one dull and dreary afternoon.
I cut and moved the stem closer.
I put the flower in the sun and he? finally came around.
Is this a male halictus ligatus?

Thank you Dr. Ascher. I will in future leave the IDing to you and just enjoy photographing these wonderful creatures.

I did not know that females slept in flowers during the day.
