Seven-spotted Lady Beetle (5 spot aberrant) - Coccinella septempunctata - female

Seven-spotted Lady Beetle (5 spot aberrant) - Coccinella septempunctata - Female
Hart-Miller Island, Chesapeake Bay, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA
July 7, 2007
Size: ~0.25 inch
This lady beetle was found on a horticultural plant near the administration building (07JUL07). Seven-spotted Lady Beetles are common on the island. This lady beetle appeared similar except without the two posterior spots on the elytra.

On 11AUG07, I observed two additional aberrant Seven-spotted Lady Beetles. One had the posterior portion of both elytra blackish; the other had the central portion of both elytra blackish.
