Dinkey Lakes fly - Tabanus - Female
Dinkey Lakes Wilderness, Fresno County, California, USA

This fly was found at round 8,600 ft in the Dinkey Lakes Wildeness in a Lodgepole Pine forest. I attempted to identify it using "Adult and Immature Tabinidae of California" by Middlekauf and Lane (1980) and belive it is a member of the genus Tabanus but am unable to get a solid match for any of the species described inside for the region.

Any identification assistance would be greatly appreciated.
