Mourning Cloak eclosion - Nymphalis antiopa

Mourning Cloak eclosion - Nymphalis antiopa
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
July 12, 2007
Size: approx 6-7 cm
My Mourning cloaks began eclosing the morning of July 12. They're continuing to come out. I currently have 9 individuals and a few more to come! They make for great macro pictures.

Good work!
It's great to see such a nice specimen. The ones here are hard to photograph and often quite shopworn.
