yes - looks like Becker's
There are Checkered Whites with no more dark pattern than this, but the pattern is slightly different.

Pontia species
It's in the genus Pontia, but I don't have to deal with the western species often enough to be confident and the angle makes viewing the upper wings a bit more difficult. It's a male and there are too few marginal spots in the forewing for Checkered White. It is most like Becker's White, Pontia beckerii.
