Eight-spotted Skimmer - Libellula forensis - male

Eight-spotted Skimmer - Libellula forensis - Male
Ankeny NWR, Marion County, Oregon, USA
July 9, 2007
this Skimmer landed near a Pondhawk I was photographing then flew backout. Did not seem affected by the missing wing.
Another one I was watcing through binoculars nearly got caught by a Bullfrog and the Pondhawk I was trying for had just finished consuming a Tule Bluet.

Hmm
Wouldn't that make this a Six-Spotted Skimmer? :)

Six-Spotted Skimmer
