Maybe Albuna pyramidalis? Fireweed was common.

A. pyramidalis f. coloradensis
Moth is indeed Albuna pyramidalis. This particular specimen is an excellent example of the "form" coloradensis: entirely black, even the orange-red longitudinal line on forewings is absent. Nice find!
