to species page, because the reduced brillancy of the dorsal surface of the upper specimen suggest this sp.
For a certain seperation of the two Hypericum-feeders, inspection of male genitalia is needed.

Unless you saw these two mating I don't think there is a basis for declaring sex. These beetles are quite gregarious and are often seen in clusters on the same stem. This may just be a cluster of two :-)

note small dark dots on stem and leaf margin (oil caverns).
