Female gnaphosid - N. voluntarius? - Nodocion voluntarius - female

Female gnaphosid - N. voluntarius? - Nodocion voluntarius - Female
Dixie Glade Campground, Mendocino National Forest, Colusa County, California, USA
August 2, 2016
Size: 6.5 mm
I was surprised to beat this adult female gnaphosid from a live oak sapling here this morning, perhaps the first time I've beat a gnaphosid from vegetation. I believe it is Nodocion voluntarius based on the epigynum, but I'm going to ask around a bit more. It's tough to get a clear shot of the ventral epigynum, but there is a central longitudinal structure barely visible in my pics.

Moved
Moved from Ground Spiders.

Moved tentatively. Added and/or obtained better epigynum photos. Seems to be a very good match to this species, but I still have at least one query pending to a local expert.

Devin Carroll -
was kind enough to look at these images and he agrees that the epigynum matches that of N. voluntarius.
