On alder at edge of small pond. The only tree cricket recorded from this locality is O. nigricornis, so I'm guessing that's what this nymph is.

I agree with O. nigricornis....
Based on appearance, both O. nigricornis and O. forbesi match; however, based on location - only O. nigricornis is believed to occur in NY.
