Caddisfly

Caddisfly
Millrift, Pike County, Pennsylvania, USA
April 11, 2016
Found in pine woods on a rural farm

interesting
did you happen to keep this? how long is it - head to wingtip. It has crenate antennae and up-turned maxillary palps. The wing venation looks aberrant. this is odd.

No
No, unfortunately I did not. I didn't think it would be anything special or I would have! I would guess 3 cm, give or take a couple millimeters

30mm?
I have no idea what it may be.

Just a guess
I can't be positive, as I am just going by memory. I wouldn't use the size to exclude any species though, as I am not the best at estimating size. I am going to pick up a small ruler to take with me for photographing insects in the future though.
