Robber fly? - Leptogaster

Robber fly? - Leptogaster
Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois, USA
June 9, 2007
The stance is that of a robber fly but I thought it was a syrphid when I snapped it. In dense second-growth woods.

Moved
Moved from Leptogastrinae.

Leptogaster
Tough to see antenna. Wings fairly seen. Likely in the true Leptogaster genera and may be L. murina. Will have to ponder the list for Illinois again.

Thanks
Herschel. I uploaded another image at a different angle that may help with the antennae.
